We are seeking a skilled VDC Detailer to convert design intent into highly constructible 3D models and coordinated shop drawings for complex mechanical systems. In this role, you’ll work closely with project managers, field leaders, and fabrication teams to support coordination, prefabrication, and successful installation across HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes.

Must-Haves
  • 2–5+ years of detailing experience for a mechanical contractor (HVAC ductwork, hydronic/process piping, plumbing, and equipment).
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP) and Revizto
    ; experience with Fabrication CADmep/ITM strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop fabrication-level (LOD 400) 3D models for mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings
    , specifications, submittals, one-lines, and P&IDs.
  • Mechanical or semiconductor background with 5+ years of data center or field exposure
    .
  • Field/trade experience considered a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
    , organizational skills, communication, and ability to meet deadlines while collaborating across office, shop, and field teams.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with trade coordination and clash detection (Revizto).
  • Familiarity with industry codes/standards such as IMC, IPC, ASHRAE, SMACNA, MSS
    , and local regulations.
  • Background supporting RFIs
    , change orders, and updating as‑builts/record models
    .
  • Ability to conduct QA/QC reviews (clearances, slope checks, access, supports, code compliance).
  • Interest in contributing to VDC standards, content libraries, and process improvements
    .
Key Responsibilities
  • Build accurate, fabrication‑ready 3D models (LOD 400) for ductwork, piping, plumbing, and equipment using Revit and Fabrication tools.
  • Apply company standards for families, parameters, naming conventions, and ACC/BIM 360 file structure.
  • Produce comprehensive shop drawings
    , spool sheets, hanger/support plans, sleeve/penetration drawings, and equipment layouts.
  • Export layout/point files for total station/Trimble and generate CNC/fabrication deliverables for the shop.
  • Lead or support clash detection workflows using Revizto; manage issue tracking and coordination with GCs and other trades.
  • Maintain federated models, viewpoints, and issue logs; document key decisions and model updates.
  • Respond to RFIs, assist with change orders, and maintain accurate as‑builts/record models.
  • Perform QA/QC checks to ensure constructability, clearances, code compliance, and installation readiness.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and vendors to align VDC deliverables with schedule and project needs.
