Job SummaryAs an Ancillary Service and Operations Analytics Engineer, you will provide engineering analysis and technical support to ensure reliable operations of the electric power grid in compliance with NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols, and Market Guides. You will focus on system modeling, tool development, and analysis of system studies, frequency control performance, and ancillary service quantification.
Responsibilities- Understand and apply principles, theories, and concepts related to the profession and ERCOT's culture.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action.
- Respond to inquiries and provide assistance to lower level workers.
- Work under the direction of a senior engineer or supervisor to complete departmental goals and assignments.
- Perform work according to applicable rules, regulations, and organization policies.
- Learn and develop software tools that enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in teams to obtain input, address comments, and perform studies.
- Assist in developing tools, processes, and procedures that enhance system reliability.
- Participate with other ERCOT departments to select and implement system changes as needed.
- Engineer Level 2: minimum 1 year of job‑related experience beyond degree requirements.
- Engineer Level 3: minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Senior Level Engineer: minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: experience within the electric utility industry; data analysis experience with large data sets; skills in Python, SQL, VBA.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent).
Hybrid. Employees required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at least 2‑3 days per week, with flexible or rotated schedules as needed.
CompensationExpected salary range: $87,000 – $120,000.
