Position SummarySamsung Austin Semiconductor will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next‑generation technologies such as 5G, AI, and HPC. The Photolithography department focuses on delivering solutions by developing 24x7x365 teams of elite, fab‑oriented, excursion‑free, safety and quality‑minded members. As part of the Photo Quality team, you will work together to support one another and our customers regardless of organizational boundaries.
The Photo Quality Engineer will review quality signals and events, investigate to root cause, and drive preventative action activities.
- Next‑generation technology node transfer including recipes, SOPs, BKMs, and Atlassian website administration.
- Follow standard operating procedures to disposition wafers: product and test wafers.
- Identify critical failures that imply bigger problems, document and escalated to supporting teams and photo leadership.
- Perform routine process monitoring and report on the quality aspects of equipment change‑point monitoring (CPM).
- Attend and contribute in daily tactical meetings with internal photo teams about quality events and metrics.
- Attend cross‑functional meetings regarding quality metrics and contribute to department and Taylor sites improvement plans.
- Collect, analyze and report quality performance data of product and test wafer monitors. Analysis and reports should include performance‑improvement plans.
- Analyze and report on department wafer loss, including reduction strategies and projects.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to equipment‑related defect, quality and yield problems.
- Assist other team members and areas when possible to help meet production goals.
- 4 years of college in a related field.
- 5+ years of semiconductor experience.
- Experience on one or more of the following types of semiconductor equipment: TEL, SEMES, Screen, ASML, Canon, KLA, Hitachi.
- Understanding of semiconductor wafer processing fundamentals and photolithography.
- Ability to deliver and present reports of a technical nature on short notice.
- Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, FDC, yield analysis and other standard engineering and manufacturing practices.
- Proficient with data analysis tools, such as JMP, MATLAB and complex spreadsheets.
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Experience using KT analysis techniques, 5 Why’s, Fishbone diagrams, and flow charts.
- Ability to evaluate the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution for direct reports and equipment.
The current base salary range for this role is $70,480 – $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
Total compensation will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
