Photo Equipment Engineer - Spinner

Overview

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Spinner Equipment Engineer to support next‑generation semiconductor solutions in 5G, AI, and HPC. The role will develop and transfer technology nodes, create SOPs, and support 24x7 operations.

• Perform Spinner and auxiliary equipment installation, hardware and product qualification.
• Create next‑generation technology node transfer, including recipes, SOPs, and BKMs.
• Attend daily tactical meetings with vendors and internal teams about photolithography equipment, and weekly strategic cross‑functional meetings on equipment metrics.
• Coordinate Samsung internal, external, and multiple vendor resources for optimal manufacturing support on assigned equipment.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and provide technical solutions to equipment‑related defect, quality, and yield problems.
• Analyze and report tool performance data (availability, MTTR, MTBF, particle/trend, maintenance success, and related metrics).
• Provide weekend coverage as needed (~12 weeks a year) and make tactical decisions for larger scope tools.

• 4‑year college degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of semiconductor photo or clean equipment ownership.
• In‑depth experience with SEMES, TEL, or Screen equipment.
• Understanding of semiconductor wafer processing fundamentals and photolithography.
• Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, FDC, yield analysis, and other standard engineering and manufacturing practices.
• Ability to travel internationally as needed.

Base salary range: $70,480 – $179,090. Compensation includes a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive programs.
