Position SummaryThe CMP team at Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a process engineer who will work with a talented team of professionals focused on establishing and maintaining world‑class process/equipment, implementing yield enhancement, and identifying complex problems and implementing solutions.
Role And Responsibilities- Monitor the wafer fabrication process by responding to in‑line issues and dispositions of production wafers.
- Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
- Coordinate the scheduling of process qualifications and equipment down‑time with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
- Use software to analyze data, identify trends, and make decisions about processing.
- Make adjustments when process parameters are exceeded and monitor parameters when tools return from maintenance.
- Execute in‑line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
- Communicate technical information within the department.
- Continuously revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Develop improved processes to increase capability.
- 2+ years prior work experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Computer Science.
- Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
- Understanding of statistical methods.
- Experience in Change Point Management.
- Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
- Ability to perform structured problem solving (8D, 7‑step, etc.).
- Experience using software data analysis tools such as Spotfire, JMP, MATLAB, etc.
B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday, 6:45 pm to 7:15 am, with alternating Saturdays.
D Shift – Wednesday through Friday, 6:45 pm to 7:15 am, with alternating Saturdays.
The current base salary range for this role is $70,480–$179,090. Total compensation will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs based on performance.
