Position Summary

HVAC Operations Supervisor will lead a team of technicians to maintain stable operation of numerous semiconductor facility systems in support of Samsung’s wafer manufacturing operation. Facility systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption. Technicians will work with various systems such as cooling towers, chillers, boilers/steam, hot water, water treatment, air conditioning, compressed air, vacuum, and exhaust.

The supervisor is not only expected to manage the team, but also perform field and control‑room activities as a key job responsibility.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead team of technicians, growing their knowledge and skills and managing performance.
  • Operate physical plants within specifications to maintain efficiency and provide consistent utilities.
  • Work to become familiar with and strictly adhere to standard operating procedures, suggesting safety and quality improvements as needed.
  • Ensure timely action in response to out‑of‑control or out‑of‑specification conditions that have safety, regulatory, or production impact implications.
  • Monitor, manipulate, and analyze deviations in system performance, taking corrective action and escalating to system owners as needed.
  • Adjust equipment parameters and/or start or stop equipment to maximize equipment efficiency within established specifications.
  • Systematically troubleshoot system/equipment problems to identify the root cause and arrive at an effective solution.
  • May provide field or control‑room support as needed and based on experience and competency level.
  • Maintain active involvement in safety discussions, training, and promotion of safe work practices.
  • Accurately communicate and document actions taken while on shift and in pass‑down meetings.
  • Collaborate with other facilities departments on site/project‑specific issues (electrical, gas & chemical, facilities services, etc.).
  • Contribute to off‑shift coverage when needed to maintain adequate staffing.
  • Collaborate with site engineers to drive system improvements.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Certification, license, associate degree, or military experience in HVAC, mechanical, chemical, instrumentation and controls, electrical, plumbing, gas fitting, industrial maintenance, facilities technology, microelectronics, renewable energy, water and environmental technology, industrial process operation, or related STEM field.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial operations and maintenance (e.g., pumps, hydraulics, piping), mechanical and electrical systems, ultra‑pure water, wastewater operations, plant operator or field equipment technician, automations and controls.
  • Prior experience in semiconductor or industrial facilities.
  • Understanding and manipulation of SCADA and other HMI systems.
Compensation

The current base salary range for this role is between $81,490 and $150,760. Individual base pay rates will depend on duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs based on performance.
