TGCM Safety Specialist (EHS Specialist) (Semiconductor Fab)

- Monday thru Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm (40-Hour week)
Role Overview:
The TGCM Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient handling, storage, and distribution of hazardous gases and chemicals in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role focuses on maintaining a "safety-first" culture, ensuring 24/7 compliance with safety regulations (OSHA), and providing technical expertise on equipment safety, chemical handling, and emergency response to minimize risk to personnel and operations.
- Safety Leadership:
Act as the primary safety focal point for on-site gas and chemical distribution operations. Drive a proactive safety culture. - Compliance & Audits:
Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, and company-specific safety policies, including ISO standards and customer protocols. - Risk Mitigation:
Conduct regular safety audits, walkthroughs, and inspections of chemical storage areas, cylinder banks, and delivery equipment (5S inspections). - Incident Investigation:
Lead investigation of near-misses and accidents, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. - Training & SOPs:
Develop and deliver safety training for technicians, including HAZMAT handling and respiratory protection programs. Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). - Equipment Safety:
Collaborate with maintenance teams to review, test, and approve safety devices, equipment, and new installations (PSSR
- Pre-Startup Safety Reviews). - Contractual Compliance:
Ensure all operations meet or exceed contractual safety agreements with customers. - Reporting:
Manage safety documentation, including OSHA 300 logs, incident reports, and chemical safety data sheets (SDS).
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field preferred or equivalent experience/knowledge as determined by management
Experience:
5+ years of experience in TGCM, field service, or equipment commissioning in the Electronics/Semiconductor industry.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of hazardous chemical/gas distribution systems, fluid systems, and PLC controls.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep understanding of OSHA regulations and Industrial Hygiene practices.
Skills:
Ability to work on a 24/7 site (including after-hours support). Strong organizational, data analysis, and reporting skills.
Physical:
Ability to perform field inspections, including climbing stairs/ladders and wearing necessary PPE (including respirators).
