Position SummarySamsung Austin Semiconductor is looking for a motivated Safety Engineer who possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assist in identifying risks that support safety programs at one of the most advanced semiconductor facilities in the United States. This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a diverse safety team to help strengthen our safety culture and improve hazard elimination for a world leader in manufacturing technology.
Roleand Responsibilities
- Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices during task performance at a semiconductor facility.
- Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures, and programs; advise and educate others.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control elements.
- Evaluate task performance to ensure compliance with site and regulatory requirements.
- Document and track results to support safety program elements.
- Conduct incident investigations, site inspections, identify root cause, determine corrective actions, and support implementation.
- Conduct employee training for education on site safety requirements.
- Conduct monthly meetings with safety sub‑committee.
- Review and audit pre‑task plans, site risk analyses and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with the daily management of the tiered auditing program including closure of facility’s preventative and corrective action plans.
- 3 years of experience in Health and Safety performing similar tasks.
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or ability to become certified.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations (Construction and General Industry) and reporting guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel on site.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and candor.
- Ability to perform training to ensure proper H&S practices and awareness.
- Strong understanding of best practices and implementation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software programs.
- Preference for experience in General Industry at a semiconductor manufacturing (FAB) facility.
- Experience working with contractor pre‑qualification software such as Highwire, Avetta, ISNetworld, or similar preferred.
The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 and $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
