Senior Infrastructure Architect

Client is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect with deep expertise in architecting and designing IT infrastructure for on-prem environments. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure compute and storage solutions while ensuring alignment with Client’s operating procedures and architecture principles. The Senior Infrastructure Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to prototype, evaluate non-functional requirements, and deliver resilient solutions.

In addition, this role will provide mentorship and technical guidance to operational teams, helping to drive automation, scalability, and innovation across the enterprise infrastructure landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop IT infrastructure compute and storage components.
• Perform system integration, capacity management, and performance monitoring.
• Automate processes during development and operations to improve efficiency.
• Develop prototypes to validate designs and delivery patterns.
• Collaborate with development, operations, compliance, and security teams.
• Execute end-to-end testing for non-functional requirements.
• Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies and tools.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to team members.
• Deliver solutions across the full lifecycle: inception, planning, design, implementation, operations, and decommissioning.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 8 years of related work experience.
• Strong expertise with on-prem/private cloud infrastructure services, including converged and hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of VMware virtualization components (NSX, vRealize).
• Strong experience with storage technologies (VxBlock, VxRail, Net App, VSAN) and networking appliances (Cisco).
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems, and middleware (app servers, web servers, databases).
• Proven track record of delivering multiple end-to-end infrastructure solutions.

• Experience as a Senior Storage Administrator/Engineer or Senior Virtualization Administrator/Engineer.
• Experience with containers (Kubernetes, Docker) and public cloud IaaS (Azure).
• Experience with infrastructure automation and orchestration (Ansible, Terraform).
• Basic knowledge of development and scripting.
• Background with large-scale technology projects such as data transformation assessments, infrastructure strategies, roadmaps, and data center refreshes.
