Responsibilities
- Design and architect enterprise networks:
Lead planning and implementation of scalable, secure infrastructures using Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms. - Manage advanced routing and switching protocols:
Configure and optimize BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and EVPN to ensure efficient traffic flow and high availability across global sites. - Implement and maintain F5 load balancing solutions:
Deploy and manage F5 appliances, including custom iRules scripting, ensuring application resilience and performance. - Troubleshoot critical network issues:
Escalation point for diagnosing and resolving L2/L3 connectivity problems, hardware failures, and VPN disruptions. - Secure network infrastructure:
Enforce security practices using IPSec, 802.1x, TACACS+, and firewalls, maintaining compliance with internal and external standards. - Support multicast and manufacturing-specific protocols:
Configure and maintain PIM, MSDP, and Anycast‑RP for real‑time data delivery in manufacturing environments. - Lead network upgrades and migrations:
Drive hardware and software refreshes and expansions with minimal downtime and maximum operational continuity. - Collaborate across teams and vendors:
Interface with cross‑functional teams, ISPs, and hardware vendors to coordinate maintenance windows and resolve escalations. - Document and standardize network operations:
Maintain detailed diagrams, configuration records, and SOPs to support audit readiness and streamline troubleshooting. - Mentor and develop team talent:
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, fostering continuous learning and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in large‑scale enterprise network operations, focusing on Cisco devices (Catalyst, Nexus), firewalls, and load balancers.
- CCNP Enterprise or CCIE certification (current or expired within the last 3 years).
- Extensive experience with routing protocols and network technologies.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex L2/L3 hardware issues, application connectivity, and P2P VPN connections.
- Experience with PIM, MSDP, Anycast‑RP, and multicast in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with network monitoring tools.
- Strong customer focus, sense of ownership, urgency, responsibility for documentation, and passion for mentoring.
- Must reside within a 1‑hour drive of Taylor, TX and be willing to commute to the office 5 days per week.
- Experience supporting networks in large 24/7 manufacturing environments.
- Expertise in high‑availability network environments.
- Strong background in server network connectivity (teaming, VPC, LACP).
- Experience with F5 load balancing, iRules, and related certifications.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and related certifications.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux and scripting in Python, Ansible, or other automation tools.
Pay range is $42 - $47 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401(k), parental leave, and more. Compensation may vary based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
