We are looking for a Data Governance Specialist to support enterprise-wide Data Governance, Information Governance, and Records Management initiatives.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Library Science, Business Administration, or related field
- Implement and administer data governance, information governance, and records management policies.
- Apply and manage retention and sensitivity labels using Microsoft Purview.
- Support records retention schedules, legal holds, eDiscovery, and compliance activities.
- Maintain business glossary entries, metadata, data classification, ownership, retention, and lineage information.
- Manage metadata quality and consistency across enterprise data assets.
- Document data lineage and data flows across governed systems.
- Perform data quality checks, track defects, and support remediation activities.
- Execute access reviews and validate least privilege and Segregation of Duties (SoD) controls.
- Support data classification, access policies, permission management, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with IT, Security, Legal, Identity, and business data stewards.
- Maintain SOPs, user guides, audit logs, and governance documentation.
- Support regulatory inquiries, data subject requests, and compliance activities.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview — Records Management, DLP, and eDiscovery.
- Experience with data catalogs, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality.
- Working knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, Informatica Power Center, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Databricks.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 platforms including Exchange, SharePoint, One Drive, and Teams.
- Experience with governance workflow and ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of data classification, retention, privacy, and access governance.
- Experience in utility, energy, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of NERC-CIP, CEII, BCSI, GDPR, or CCPA.
- Certifications such as CRM, IGP, CIP, or Microsoft Purview/eDiscovery certifications.
- Familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK or DCAM frameworks.
- Experience with data lineage and catalog integrations.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
