Position Summary
In your role as a Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Technician, you will operate a dual‑beam focused ion beam (FIB) to prepare high‑quality samples suitable for advanced TEM analysis. The position also involves tool maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, collaborating with the imaging team to improve sample quality, and continually expanding capabilities to enhance output and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Follow SOPs and job instructions carefully with keen attention to detail
- Operate Dual Beam FIB tools to prepare high‑quality samples free of damage or artifacts for TEM analysis
- Perform level‑appropriate tool maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Strive for output and efficiency improvement to meet team turnaround time and capacity goals
- Determine and assist in developing methods and procedures to optimize in‑lab techniques and capabilities
- Preferred: 2+ years of college or technical school; 1+ year of experience in the semiconductor field (either is not strictly required)
- Knowledge of SEM and FIB operation for TEM sample preparation, including understanding and following verbal and written instructions
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods when needed
- Ability to work frequently at a computer terminal
- Skill in safely handling and transferring parts or samples smaller than 1/8" using tweezers
- Competence in operator‑level tool maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting
- Experience with chemical and dry‑etch sample delayering
- Ability to perform physical failure analysis sample manipulation
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and various Samsung software applications
- B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
- D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15pm) with alternating Saturdays
The base salary range for this role is $18.60 – $45.00 per hour. Pay rates depend on duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications, and experience. Total compensation may include a competitive benefits package and incentive programs.
