Job SummaryAs an Equipment Technician at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, you’ll be responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, such as working with engineers and manufacturing in set‑up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting/following standard operating procedures, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the process and production of memory chips and logic.
You’ll use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in‑line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. In addition, you’ll determine and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. You’ll be required to comply with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.
- Performing scheduled maintenance following detailed SOP.
- Troubleshooting equipment failures.
- Monitor and respond to abnormal equipment signals.
- Working with senior personnel and engineers to perform troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance.
- Correcting and generating SOPs when required.
- Training junior technicians as needed.
- Send and receiving parts from clean or repair.
- Two‑year technical degree, equivalent military experience or if not available, 5‑10 years direct applicable Semiconductor experience in High Volume Manufacturing Facilities.
- AMAT Centura 5200 experience on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, gas panel.
- Must have high volume fabrication experience.
- Ability to follow SOPs.
- Focused on continuous improvement in fast‑paced, changing environment.
- High level of initiative and desire to learn.
- Prior experience with 5s and LEAN methodologies.
Base salary range: $18.60/hour – $60.40/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

- A Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45am – 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays
- C Shift – Thursday through Saturday (6:45am – 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays
- B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
- D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
