Laboratory Technician II

Location:

Taylor, TX
Hourly Pay: $28.00 – $29.00

Responsibilities
  • Run routine sample analyses per established SOPs.
  • Perform laboratory quality control checks and calibrate instruments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment while adhering to safety and quality protocols.
  • Perform all Analyst1 responsibilities.
  • Ensure safe completion of all tasks in the lab.
  • Tune and calibrate analytical instruments.
  • Conduct high‑volume analysis of semiconductor‑grade chemicals for trace impurities or assay.
  • Perform other analytical duties as assigned by the laboratory manager.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Communicate test results in a timely manner to factory customers.
  • Document quality‑control standards and analytical results.
  • Cross‑train on a variety of analytical lab tests.
  • Optimize sample cycle times and contribute to continuous laboratory improvements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure supplies are maintained.
  • Answer customer and management questions about sample status.
  • Document and maintain safety protocols.
  • Escalate unresolved analytical/instrumentation/LIMS/sample issues.
  • Implement safety and quality improvements.
  • Attend company town‑hall meetings.
  • Implement and maintain 5S organizational principles.
  • Assist customers with LIMS, database, and other system issues.
  • Follow up on samples with long dwell times.
  • Troubleshoot instrument and sample analysis issues as directed by SOPs or chemists.
  • Assist scientists/chemists with data collection for instrument qualifications and MOCs.
  • Provide support at the Austin Lab site on an as‑needed basis.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    HS diploma with 7years industrial laboratory experience OR Associate degree in chemistry or related field and 5years experience; or Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field and 3years experience.
  • Must meet all Analyst1 requirements.
  • Availability for holiday and weekend coverage.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good computer skills with analytical instrumentation software, LIMS, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Initiative and self‑motivation.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift medium loads with assistance.
  • Capability to perform repetitive sample analysis tasks daily.
