Our new client operates two large-scale advanced manufacturing facilities in Central Texas. These sites support 24/7 production of highly specialized technology components used across multiple industries. The campuses include clean-room environments, engineering labs, and high-volume production lines that require a diverse, skilled workforce.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented multi-site Key and Lock Control Technician (Locksmith) to join our team. You will oversee the secure issuance, tracking, and recovery of physical keys for our facilities in the Taylor area. This role will manage keyed access to all our facilities, document processes and inventory, maintain and manage keyed lock systems, develop policies and SOPs, and maintain audit records of user access, ensuring only authorized personnel have access to restricted areas.
Job Description
- Install, adjust, and repair locks and door hardware
- Works directly with vendors to install locks and establish key management protocols on a new project
- Manage lock and key control program at legacy site (installation, removal, rekeying, documenting)
- Cut and issue physical keys, and maintain accurate records of keys, including unassigned keys
- Update organization Key Control Standard Operating Procedures to reflect design and changes
- Provide timely and professional responses to written and verbal customer requests
- Maintain a Security Focus:
Exercise an understanding of risk management and compliance standards while protecting the property
- Two years of experience performing work as a locksmith, or a combination of approved training (48-hour course/600-hour fundamentals) and 1 year of experience or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of keyed lock systems, key cutting procedures, familiarity with both physical and electronic access systems
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1st shift 8A-5P
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
- $27-29 per hour, based on experience, skills, and market factors
