HVAC Piping Technician
The HVAC Piping Technician performs work with minimal supervision unless a major incident occurs in which the SME will provide support. Works on advanced assignments that require considerable judgement and initiative. Must have advanced understanding of equipment / processes in assigned areas and reprioritize individual/group’s goals to meet changing business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to system failures, troubleshoot, and perform adjustments/repairs to return systems to normal operational status.
- Monitor the work of others in the area of responsibilities to mitigate impacts to systems and recommend improvements.
- Develop procedures and collaborate with other HVAC team members to drive results.
- Coordinate and perform on-the-job training for technicians, ensuring they utilize business processes as defined by management.
- Use professional behavior at all times, update supervisor of daily activities, and focus on operations and high-level troubleshooting.
- Provide training and support to shift technicians, develop technicians to improve the team.
- Support HVAC engineering with complex assignments and information gathering/sharing.
- Review critical work orders and drive to resolution. Coordinate vendors as needed.
- Be accountable for outcomes, take ownership of all results.
- Verify all TBMs, BMs, CBMs, ECs, etc., in GEMS for adequate inform comments, format, work order progression, etc.
- Update all workflow processes daily (e.g., the “INFORM” section in GEMS).
- Accept invitations to Weekly HVAC/EXH and UPW/IWT Eng Meetings, Design Review Meetings, and Quality/Reliability Meetings as requested.
- Review project feasibility, determine scope and resources needed, communicate project/repair schedules to stakeholders, and secure resources needed to support project commissioning.
- Collaborate with system owners to improve process equipment, forecast resource needs, and support 8D investigations.
- Provide weekly reports and review SOPs to ensure safety and quality results and attend scheduled audits.
- Follow all HVAC procedures and drive continuous improvement.

Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness‑for‑duty requirements applicable to the position. Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
