JOB

DUTIES
  • Levels 1 & 2 Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and physical inspection of critical infrastructure HVAC equipment to ensure up time within a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Assists with diagnostics and mechanical repairs on essential heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Contributes to equipment failure reviews and provides root cause analysis.
  • Executes routine preventative maintenance on all components of vital heating and cooling units; services compressors to optimize service life and reliability of critical infrastructure.
  • Supports achievement and maintenance of availability and capacity targets for data centers and technical infrastructure across all ERCOT facilities.
  • Provides stand‑by and emergency maintenance as required.
  • Responds promptly to safety and emergency incidents for Facilities Services, maintaining a secure and safe work environment.
  • Available weekends, evenings, and non‑standard hours; must always carry a phone and respond to infrastructure emergencies 24/7.
  • Utilizes BAS applications for analysis, reporting, and optimized control of HVAC systems.
  • Assists in planning and designing new heating and air‑conditioning installations.
  • Helps maintain maintenance records in accordance with City, State, and EPA regulations.
Levels Senior and Lead
  • Review equipment failures and deliver detailed root cause analysis and postmortem reports.
  • Recommend, document and implement procedural improvements in a continuous effort to maintain operational excellence and targeted uptime.
  • Reads and reviews blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams and job specifications to determine best method of installing heating and ventilation systems.
  • Prepares and presents estimates of cost of parts, equipment, and supplies of proposed installation or repairs.
  • Ensures availability and capacity targets are achieved and maintained for data centers and technical infrastructure for all ERCOT facilities.
  • Maintains strong technical knowledge control systems and power wiring.
  • Assists in planning and designing new installations of heating and air‑conditioning systems.
  • Interprets building codes and regulations as they relate to HVAC.
  • Plan layout and installation of HVAC additions and controls throughout ERCOT mission critical facilities.
  • Create detailed documentation of installations and maintenance processes.
  • Participates in the preparation of analyses and reports on the data center and critical infrastructure.
  • Coordinates and inspects the work of contractors to ensure quality workmanship.
CERTIFICATION
  • Valid Texas Driver's License (Required)
  • EPA Certification (Preferred)
  • Liebert Service and Repair Certification (Preferred)
  • TACL Class A license (Preferred)
  • State of Texas ACR Class A Contractor license (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE
  • Level 2:
    At least 2 years of job‑related experience beyond degree required.
  • Level 3:
    Minimum 5 years of job‑related experience beyond degree, including 5 years progressively responsible work in installation, maintenance, service, and repair.
  • Lead Level: Minimum 8 years of job‑related experience beyond degree, including 8 years progressively responsible work in installation, maintenance, service, and repair.
