Primary
Purpose:
Lead and manage the district's transportation program to provide safe, reliable, efficient, and customer-focused transportation services. Provide leadership for personnel management, regulatory compliance, school and community partnerships, fleet management, and long-term departmental planning.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Ability to direct and manage operations of a large fleet of vehicles
Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam
Knowledge of school transportation operations, fleet management, safety, and regulatory requirements
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Ability to use technology to plan, operate, monitor, and evaluate transportation operations
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop personnel, build effective teams, and establish systems of accountability
Experience:
5 years of experience in student transportation, fleet operations, logistics, or a related field
3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
School transportation experience preferred
