Job Summary
The Credit for Prior Learning office is looking for a work-study student to assist with office operations. This individual will handle phone calls and email inquiries, either providing assistance that is within their skillset, or passing along the information to other department members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Phone coverage – this position will be first answer on any phone calls that come in during their work hours
- Email sorting – the CPL office receives a high volume of varied requests. This position would be working to answer basic questions or marking emails for other department members to handle.
- Current SLCC student
- Awarded funds through SLCC's Career Services via the Work Study Program
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
- Willingness to learn and be trained
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products

- GPA 2.0 or higher
- Currently enrolled in 6 credit hours for fall semester/spring semester.
- Have you been awarded Federal Work Study funds through Financial Aid? If not, do you know if you are eligible for Federal Work Study program?
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
- Willingness to learn and be trained
