PlanIT Group is looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Support Engineer.
The applicant will be the Aircraft Maintenance architect responsible for data investigations/research within the F-16 Technical Order Repository. The data researched will be based on electrical data, so familiarity with basic aircraft electronics is required and a basic knowledge of software coding and programming.
An advanced understanding of SQL/databases and C++/C# would be highly desirable. An understanding of the Agile Software development cycle would be a plus. Qualified applicants must have the ability to read and interpret (F-16 Preferred) Fighter Aircraft Drawings. Will provide engineering expertise to support the development and updates supporting an F-16 Air Force Support Equipment Modification Program called the MBFI. The Multiplex Bus Fault Isolator (MBFI) is support equipment which provides the capabilities to troubleshoot and detect faults within the multiplex buses of aircraft.
A thorough knowledge of aircraft Multiplex bus communication and 1553/194 standards is a plus.
Must work well in Integrated Product Team (IPT) comprised of contract labor and government civilian employees, with F-16 familiarity. This position is located at Hill AFB Utah on base, so all qualified applicants must have the ability to access a US government facility by passing a thorough background check.
ResponsibilitiesPlans, coordinates, directs, and/or performs engineering assignments involving specifications for, and design changes or alterations to, aircraft, engines, systems, components, and field or shop equipment; investigates and analyzes project requirements and operating problems and develops recommended solutions to meet company governmental safety and performance standards including Minimum Equipment List (MEL); evaluates, selects, applies, and/or adapts engineering modifications; designs or recommends new or modified parts and components;
analyzes reparability of parts and components; evaluates operating data on parts, components, and systems to establish causes and to determine remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals; analyzes and evaluates aircraft and associated equipment proposals; prepares technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications.
- Experience with data investigations within the F-16 Technical Order Repository and familiarity with electrical data.
- Familiarity with basic aircraft electronics and a basic knowledge of software coding and programming.
- Advanced understanding of SQL/databases and C++/C# preferred.
- Understanding of the Agile Software development cycle is a plus.
