Seeking:
Youth Leader / Preschool Teacher

Position Summary:

Davis Memorial Christian Church is seeking a
passionate, energetic, and spiritually mature leader to fill a dual
role as Youth Pastor and Preschool Teacher. This person will be
responsible

for nurturing the faith of young children through developmentally
appropriate education, biblical teaching, and fellowship opportunities
for middle and high school students while also providing pastoral
leadership.

Report to:
Senior Pastor / Director of Education

Key Responsibilities as Preschool Teacher (approximately 40 % of time)

Curriculum and Instruction:
Develop and implement a Christ-centered,
biblically guided curriculum for 3 – 5 year olds, focusing on academic
and spiritual growth (e.g., Bible stories, letter/number recognition,
social skills).
Child Development:
Observe, evaluate, and support the emotional,
social, academic and spiritual needs of each child.
Classroom Management:
Establish a safe, clean, loving, and
developmentally appropriate environment.
Safety/Compliance:
Ensure compliance with state licensing, health
and safety regulations, including CPR/First Aid certification
Parent/Guardian Communication:
Maintain regular communication with
parents/guardians through weekly newsletters and periodic academic
updates.

Key Responsibilities as Youth Pastor (approximately 60% of time)

Ministry Development:
Oversee and develop all aspects of youth
ministry including weekly meetings, Sunday school and special events.
Teaching and Discipleship:
Regularly teach the Bible with conviction
and compassion, mentoring students to develop a lifelong understanding
of faith in Christ.
Volunteer Leadership:
Recruit, train, and shepherd a team of
volunteers for youth activities.
Pastoral Care:
Provide care, support, and counseling to students and
their families.
Outreach:
Build relationships with students, engaging with them
through school visits and community activities.

General Administrative and Staff Duties

Collaboration:

Work alongside church staff to integrate child/youth
activities into the broader church calendar.
Safety Training:
Manage volunteer background checks and child-abuse
prevention training for all ministry areas.

Qualifications and Requirements

Faith and Character: A committed Christian with a personal, growing,
relationship with Jesus Christ, modeling biblical leadership (1
Timothy 3: 1-13; Titus 1: 5-9).

Education:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred but
not required. Youth Ministry, Theology, or related field also
preferred but not required.

Experience:

One to two years proven experience in both youth
ministry (6
-12 grade), and classroom management or early childhood
education.

Skills:

Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership
skills; ability to teach and mentor diverse age groups.
Compliance:
Ability to pass a thorough background check.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, and crawl to interact
with young children.
Ability to lift 30 pounds.
