JOB TITLE:
Middle School Athletic Coach
Education: High School Diploma (BA/BS preferred).
Experience: Participation at high school or college level.
Physical Requirements: Hand-eye, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity; ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit; ability to travel between locations.
Other Requirements: Coursework in Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries; knowledge of the sport; demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.
Reports to: Middle School Principal, Activities Coordinator, Respective High School Head Coach.
Receives Guidance From: Middle School Principal, Activities Coordinator, Respective High School Head Coach.
Essential Functions and Duties- Issues equipment and supervises the students’ care of it; checks in and inventories equipment at the end of the season.
- Oversees physical examination records and ensures every athlete returns the necessary forms signed by the doctor and parent.
- Promotes a style of play consistent with the scope and sequence of the total program.
- Prepares a daily practice schedule and makes continued efforts to improve coaching techniques.
- Dresses appropriately for coaching duties during practice and game time.
- Adheres to policies and procedures established by the Tea Area School District.
- Administers first aid to injured players and takes appropriate action, such as notifying the parent, family doctor, Activities Coordinator, and building principal.
- Communicates between officials and coaches in a professional manner.
- Attends rules meetings and is familiar with the rules of the game.
- Attends coaches meetings as deemed necessary by the Activities Coordinator and respective head coach.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Environment: Indoor and outdoor settings (gymnasium, wrestling room, locker rooms, coaching offices, football field, track, soccer fields, district transportation).
Climatic Environment: May be subject to extreme cold below 32°F and heat above 100°F; occasional extreme noise, odors, mists, dust, and ventilation issues.
Hazards: Potential exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, and adverse walking and driving conditions.

Salary: $2,727 to $3,504 per year
