The city of Aurora’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Department’s mission is to encourage active lifestyles and create healthy environments for people, nature and community.

The award-winning operation consists of seven divisions (Golf, Open Space and Natural Resources, Parks Operations, Planning, Design and Construction, Recreation, Business Services and Communications) that collectively manage more than 8,000 acres of open space, 100+ parks, 180+ athletic fields, over 100 miles of trails, three nature centers, two reservoirs, five recreation centers, five golf courses, indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities and one of Colorado’s largest municipal urban forestry programs.

The hiring range for this role is $106,340 - $132,295 annually.

The GIS/CMMS supervisor leads the team responsible for the Parks, Recreation & Open Space (PROS) department’s Geographical Information System (GIS) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This GIS team connects internal and externalcustomerstohigh-qualityasset-centric spatialinformationthrough providing creative and reliable technical solutions and support.

The primary responsibilities of the job include leading and motivating staff, developing and implementing a vision for the use of Parks, Recreation & Open Space enterprise systems, seeking out innovative solutions to meet current and future business objectives, managing and delegating workload, and leading higher priority or more complex GIS or CMMS initiatives. This position is a working supervisor with the responsibility of performing at the Senior GIS/CMMS Analyst level.

The GIS/CMMS supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that the team members have the resources they require to be successful.

• Develop and implement a GIS and CMMS Application strategic plan and vision. This includes meeting the core duties and functions of the team, prioritizing requests from users, and providing a vision and plan for future, sustainable GIS and CMMS endeavors
