The Manufacturing Production Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing daily operations within our Steel Works Division, including fabrication, welding, and finishing departments. This position is responsible for ensuring production teams are executing the right work at the right time while maintaining safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on manufacturing leader with strong technical knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and experience driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced production environment.
Location: Sioux Falls, SD Work Hours: Monday - Friday (additional hours as needed to support production requirements)Pay: Depending on Experience
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
- Manage production planning, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet customer and business goals.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to improve workflow, resolve production challenges, and support operational excellence.
- Develop and coach production leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Utilize ERP systems, KPIs, and production data to drive performance and support strategic decision‑making.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards while promoting the DeGeest Stronger Standard.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably within fabrication, welding, steel manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience leading production teams, utilizing ERP systems, and managing manufacturing operations and scheduling.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, EOS, or similar programs.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, BOMs, routings, and production schedules.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and spend significant time on the production floor.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout production areas.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and safely work around manufacturing equipment and materials.

- The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is eligible for a bonus.
