Assembles, installs, and adjusts a variety of component parts on units according to drawings and written customer specifications, using hand tools, assembly fixtures, and test devices.
Available ShiftsEvening Shift: 4:30pm-3:00am
Job Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities- Read drawings or customer specifications to determine the position of unit component parts.
- Position components and install fixtures.
- Inspect products to verify that optional equipment changes have been made according to customer specifications.
- Clean dust and dirt off building panels and electrical components.
- Gather supplies and tools needed to complete jobs.
- Drill and tap holes to install floor plates and thresholds.
- Use grinders to grind knots off floor and panels prior to painting.
- Complete work according to specified schedule and complete traveler documents in detail.
- Verify correct paint colors are being used by reading drawing and customer specifications.
- Assemble units and test units for proper performance using such devices as gauges, test lights, hand tools, and related electronic devices.
- May install windows, door panes, handles, drains or other accessories.
- Clean up work area and return tools and supplies to appropriate places each day.
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Flexibility and ability to work under production pressure.
- Ability to work in cooperation with other team members.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements.
- Detail oriented.
- Prior industrial painting experience; automotive painting may be suitable.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent experience may be acceptable.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Frequent reaching and working overhead.
- Ability to work at heights greater than 10 feet, including ladders and rooftops.
- Ability to work in confined or tight spaces for extended periods of time.
