As a Wainwright/Upholsterer on our team, you'll build and restore authentic horse-drawn vehicles using traditional woodworking, joinery, and upholstery techniques. From Stagecoaches and Hitch Wagons to Sheep Wagons and Cannon Carriages, every project is unique, offering new challenges and opportunities to grow your skills while preserving a craft few people practice today.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR- Strong woodworking skills and experience with woodworking equipment and hand tools.
- Upholstery experience or a willingness to learn traditional vehicle upholstery techniques.
- The ability to interpret drawings, plans, reference photos, and historical examples.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to hand-fit custom components.
- A passion for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in producing exceptional work.
- A team player who enjoys collaborating to create historically accurate, museum-quality vehicles.
- Learn the rare and rewarding craft of traditional coachmaking.
- Work on one-of-a-kind projects- no assembly lines or mass production.
