A detail-oriented Payroll Specialist responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, including wage calculations, timesheet management, and compliance with tax and labor regulations. This role maintains payroll records, resolves discrepancies, supports employee inquiries, and collaborates across departments to enhance payroll efficiency and compliance, including union workforce requirements. Client Details My client is a waste and logistics company providing collection, transportation, and disposal services for various materials.

They focus on efficient operations, reliable service, and sustainability to support commercial and industrial customers. Description Process weekly payroll accurately and on time Maintain and update payroll records, including employee changes Calculate deductions such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments Resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations Perform payroll audits and reconciliations Partner with HR and Finance to align payroll data Support year-end reporting, including W-2s and tax filings Administer union payroll requirements and contract-based increases Identify process improvements and resolve root causes Assist with audits, reporting, and general HR support Profile Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related discipline preferred 2+ years of experience in payroll or a comparable role Hands-on experience with Ceridian Dayforce and strong Excel capabilities, especially for data analysis Solid knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance standards Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy Strong time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple deadlines Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal Job Offer Competitive pay and a strong benefits package MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
