Business Instructor – Part‑Time Adjunct
Salary: $67.00 per hour
Type: Temporary – Adjuncts
Location: East Kern (Edwards/California City/Tehachapi – Rising Scholars), CA
Department: Business & Paralegal Studies
- Provide instruction in a full range of Business courses, including Intro to Business, Business Law, Principles of Management and Organization, Business Communication, Introduction to Marketing, Human Resource Management, Principles of Project Management, Introduction to Personal Finance and Managing Diversity in the Workplace, Financial Accounting, and Managerial Accounting.
- Facilitate instruction across multiple campus sites, covering day, evening, and weekend classes, large class settings, and distance‑learning modalities.
- Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Business department.
- Maintain subject‑matter currency and develop, revise, and assess curriculum using computer and multimedia technology.
- Engage collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
- Master’s degree in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing, or business education; or
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields plus a Master’s in economics, personnel management, public administration, or a JD/LL.B.; or
- Bachelor’s in economics with a business emphasis plus a Master’s in personnel management, public administration, or a JD/LL.B.; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Effective collaboration with colleagues in an innovative teaching environment.
- Ability to work with students of varied skills, motivations, and vocational goals.
- Curriculum development across multiple modalities.
- Recruitment and articulation engagement with local schools, colleges, and universities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maintenance of subject‑matter currency.
- Assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Computer proficiency and willingness to adopt new educational technologies.
- Commitment to the California community college mission.
