PEARCE RENEWABLES is looking for Renewables Control Center Technicians for our Remote Operations Center (ROC). The Renewables Control Center Technician monitors and controls commercial and scale utility‑scale wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage facilities. This position is responsible for operating, dispatching, and monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis to ensure that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner.
CoreResponsibilities
- Identify and ticket plant communication, equipment outages, and under‑production issues using SCADA, DAS, and a computerized maintenance management system.
- Function as the primary point of contact with Balancing Authorities, Transmission Operators, Distribution Operators, and Scheduling Entities while utilizing three‑part communication.
- Maintain logs of solar plant operations including notification of events and communications in accordance with Remote Operations Center (ROC) procedures.
- Schedule planned and unplanned outages with Scheduling Entities.
- Initiate responses to plant changes, site trips, feeder circuit trips, loss of communications, etc.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience- Experience working as a control room operator for renewable generation.
- Power generation experience, wind or solar background preferred.
- Ability to work with different management styles and in a fast‑paced multi‑cultural environment under tight deadlines and demanding customers (internal and external).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to solve problems of both a technical and operational nature.
- Knowledge of commercial and utility‑scale solar electrical generating facility design, operations, and typical maintenance issues.
- Ability to work in a high‑stress environment where decisions directly impact personnel safety and equipment reliability.
- Strong computer skills—mastery of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) applications is required.

Job Requirements- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required for 24‑7 coverage. Night operations – 6 PM‑6 AM.
- Position requires routine personnel interaction with Remote Operations Center (ROC) staff on all shifts.
- Routine operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Frequent oral and written communications.
$23.00–$33.00 hourly/DOE.
