The Solar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician in the PEARCE Renewables Operations and Maintenance (OM) division performs tasks involving operations and maintenance (O&M) and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects located throughout United States. These are local sites; candidates should reside within 50 miles of the Tehachapi, California area.
Core Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.
- Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
- Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
- Act as a team member to support site work which could include supervising field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- 1‑4+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components is required.
- 1‑4+ years of Renewable energy experience is preferred.
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
- Post‑secondary education is preferred.
- Electrical certifications are preferred such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA 70E.
- Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements is required.
$23.00‑$28.00 hourly/DOE
Actual compensation is influenced by skill set, level of experience, and location. Employees may also be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem or other applicable compensation.
