Description

Thrive Pet Healthcare is hiring a Veterinary Practice Manager for the Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital. The role ensures a positive culture, operational efficiency, and client service while managing the hospital’s business activities.

About You

Candidate will bring leadership, decision‑making, and communication skills to foster a supportive environment aligned with the hospital’s values.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all business activities of the hospital.
  • Hire, train, coach, and conduct disciplinary action for staff.
  • Prepare, manage, and analyze budgets in collaboration with leadership and finance.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and set clinic fees.
  • Maintain inventory control systems and manage hospital software.
  • Implement and enforce safety and security procedures.
  • Promote a culture of empathy, client service, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of veterinary hospital management or supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • CVPM certification encouraged.
  • Experience managing an ER veterinary healthcare setting.
  • Strong judgment, time‑management, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to lead staff at all levels and demonstrate empathy toward clients and animals.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial reporting, and P&L analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid math and Excel/spreadsheet skills.
  • Physical ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance, and 40+ pounds with assistance.
Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary starting at $71,000+ annually (negotiable based on credentials and experience). Benefits include:
