Children's Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team
Position: 1 Social Worker Post – 37 hours per week, Permanent
Salary:
Qualified Social Worker (PO2) £42,652 – £45,271* ;
Experienced Social Worker (PO3) £47,362 – £50,339*
* Salaries include market factor where applicable.
Our Children with Disabilities Service supports children and young people aged 0‑17 with complex health, medical and learning difficulties. The team includes Social Workers, Social Work Assistants, Senior Social Workers and Assistants, Short‑Break Coordinator, Direct Payment Officer, and Occupational Therapy Team.
Responsibilities- Plan and review social care needs for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- Work directly with children, young people, and families to ensure their views are heard and integrated into support plans.
- Engage in multi‑agency working with partners in health, education and social care.
- Adhere to statutory requirements, including Children in Need and Child Protection.
- Provide quality supervision and participate in reflective consultations and training.
- Qualified Social Worker with either PO2 or PO3 status.
- Experience in working with children, young people and families with complex needs (background in disability not required).
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.
