An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supplying and supporting high-performance industrial machinery across the UK.
This role offers a combination of workshop-based work in Telford and field-based service, installation and maintenance activities at customer sites nationwide. We are looking for a hands‑on engineer with strong hydraulic and electrical fault-finding experience who enjoys variety in their work and is comfortable travelling throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Installation, commissioning and servicing of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown support at customer sites.
- Perform electrical wiring and fault-finding activities, including work on 3-phase systems.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
- Undertake workshop assembly, testing and refurbishment work at the Telford facility.
- Produce service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Provide excellent customer support and technical assistance during site visits.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Previous experience in a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and fault diagnostics.
- Experience with electrical wiring and fault-finding.
- Knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Mechanically minded with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable travelling across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Based within a commutable distance of Telford to support workshop requirements.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Competitive salary of £40,000 - £48,000 depending on experience.
