Role
Establish and maintain a safe working environment. Responsible for all incentive standards and cost estimating in accordance with established Industrial Engineering procedures. Must work well with department leadership, administrative employees, and shop employees to maintain harmonious relationships. This job requires common sense, good judgment, and a broad knowledge of operations procedures and company policies.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for incentive standards, maintaining manufacturing cost system and cost estimating in accordance with established Industrial Engineering procedures.
- Perform time studies on various production processes.
- Estimate cost for new jobs with knowledge and comparison of active parts.
- Utilize technical skills and experience to improve foundry production processes - increasing efficiency and eliminating waste.
- Design and implement workstation layouts that support the operator(s).
- Present analysis and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
- Industrial engineers focus on efficiency, balancing factory such as time, number of workers needed, and available technology to accomplish goals safely and within budget.
- Maintain plant systems including cost/bill of materials, operation master records, external cost, BOM, PSP, and others.
- Review all operations and department cost, job processes, special costs, and quotations.
- Creation, review, and approval of standard work and DWI’s for all departments focusing on efficiency and best practice.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Conduct team meetings and give short presentations.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Know Industrial Engineering terminology, computer skills, department operations, and blueprint terminology.
- Understand work pace leveling percent.
- Acquire and understand knowledge of safety policies and procedures for all plant departments.
- Two‑year Associate degree in Industrial Engineering or actively pursuing a relevant degree.
- Three years of foundry or other related experience.
- Proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in AS400 preferred.
- Must be plant, department, and shift mobile.
