Uprite Construction is looking for an experienced Traveling Superintendent to join our California operations team. This position is for a Superintendent who lives in Northern or Southern California and is comfortable traveling to projects based on where our work takes us.

The first project assignment will be in Merced, California.

We are specifically looking for someone with strong commercial ground up construction experience and a proven background managing tilt wall construction. This person will be responsible for leading field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining the project schedule, and ensuring our projects are delivered safely and at the level of quality our clients expect.

This is not a Merced only position. After completion of the initial project, the Superintendent will transition to other Uprite projects based on business and project needs.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead all day to day field operations for assigned commercial construction projects
  • Manage ground up tilt wall construction from mobilization through project completion and closeout
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and field activities
  • Develop and maintain short term field schedules while working with the project team to protect the overall project schedule
  • Coordinate sitework, underground utilities, foundations, slab activities, tilt wall panel construction, panel erection, structural steel, building dry in, MEP trades, interiors, and closeout activities
  • Plan and coordinate tilt wall sequencing, including panel layout, casting activities, erection logistics, crane coordination, bracing, structural connections, and associated field operations
  • Conduct daily site walks and proactively identify schedule, quality, constructability, and coordination issues
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers to resolve RFIs, submittal issues, drawing conflicts, and field conditions
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate expectations clearly to all project partners
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and field documentation
  • Monitor manpower and subcontractor performance against project schedule requirements
  • Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions and project stakeholders
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professionally managed jobsite
  • Drive Uprite’s safety expectations and ensure subcontractors comply with project safety requirements
  • Manage quality control throughout construction and address deficiencies before they impact subsequent work
  • Lead punch list, turnover, and field closeout activities
  • Build strong working relationships with owners, subcontractors, design teams, inspectors, and internal Uprite team members
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven Superintendent experience with a commercial General Contractor
  • Tilt wall construction experience is required
  • Strong ground up commercial construction experience
  • Experience independently managing field operations on active construction projects
  • Knowledge of tilt wall sequencing, panel construction, erection, bracing, structural coordination, and associated site operations
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and field documentation
  • Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and scopes simultaneously
  • Strong scheduling and look ahead planning capabilities
  • Ability to identify field issues early and develop practical solutions before they impact the project
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, subcontractors, owners, and design professionals
  • Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality
  • Ability and willingness to travel based on project assignments
  • Must currently reside in Northern or Southern California
