We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Assistant (Learning Resource Center Coordinator) position located at our campus in Temecula, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Learning Assistant (Learning Resource Center Coordinator) to coordinate and oversee activities in the Learning Resource Center (LRC), a facility that houses a Writing Center, Math Center, general tutoring services, embedded tutoring, and supplemental instruction.
The primary duties of the Learning Assistant (Learning Resource Center Coordinator) will require 1372 hours which equates to 196 service days per academic year, coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Learning Resource Center, tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and embedded tutoring. This is a full-time tenure-track non-teaching academic position. Faculty members are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces.
This position will work collaboratively with other divisions, departments, and services on campus to plan, develop, and support these programs. The Learning Assistant (Learning Resource Center Coordinator) works closely with the area Dean to plan, develop, support, and implement academic support programs with the LRC.
Initial placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with education and experience, not to exceed step five (5) on the assigned salary schedule. Step five (5) may be exceeded if the district determines an extraordinary need, or circumstance warrants a higher placement. This is a full-time tenure-track non-teaching academic position. This Academic assignment requires 196 service days per academic year.
While this current vacancy is expected at the Temecula Valley Campus, applicants may be assigned to any district facility.
The start date for this position will be July 2026. Additional openings that become available prior to the end of the hiring process may also be filled from the qualified applicants.

Learning Assistant (Learning Resource Center Coordinator) Responsibilities:
* Lead the development, implementation, and expansion of embedded tutoring and Supplemental Instruction in coordination with faculty and instructional departments
* Lead innovative efforts within the Learning Resource Center by evaluating, piloting, and implementing emerging educational technologies and evidence-based, inclusive service models to improve equitable access, student engagement, and learning outcomes
* Serve as liaison between the Learning Resource Center and instructional faculty, and as liaison between the Learning Resource Center and other student support programs
* Collaborate with Math and Writing Center Coordinators, Learning Disabilities Specialists, and Peer Educator Specialists to develop and carryout the goals and mission of the Learning Resource Center
* Collaborate with discipline departments, campus services, and programs to develop and implement student-centered academic support
* Facilitate faculty professional development and orientations about Learning Resource Center services
* Organize and coordinate classroom visits to inform faculty and students of the Learning Resource Center services
* Facilitate Learning Resource Center trainings and/or conduct workshops, study groups, and other forms of academic assistance
* Lead, maintain, and update Peer Educator training curriculum to align with current best practices, culturally responsive strategies, and research in peer-led academic support
