Capability Unit

Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) operates a fleet of Boeing KC-135R and C135FR
aircraft, offering an air‑to‑air refueling service that seamlessly, safely, and professionally integrates into military aviation training and operations.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all technical training programs for aviation maintenance personnel. This leadership role ensures maintenance staff maintain the required qualifications, develop technical competencies, and stay current with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The position is critical to maintaining a highly skilled maintenance workforce that supports safe and compliant aircraft operations.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs for maintenance personnel, including initial, recurrent, and specialized technical training
  • Ensure all training programs comply with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards
  • Evaluate training needs and develop curriculum to address skill gaps and technical requirements
  • Create and maintain training materials, including manuals, presentations, e‑learning content, and hands‑on practical exercises
  • Schedule and coordinate training events, ensuring appropriate facilities, equipment, and instructors are available
  • Track training records and certification status for all maintenance personnel
  • Maintain the FAA‑approved training program in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct instructor‑led training sessions as required
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics
  • Stay current with changes in aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and manage the training budget
  • Select and oversee external training providers when specialized training is required
  • Collaborate with Technical Publications to ensure training materials reflect current maintenance manuals and procedures
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on new hire training requirements and onboarding processes
  • Liaise with the FAA and other regulatory agencies regarding training program approvals and compliance
  • Implement innovative training methodologies, including simulation, virtual reality, and computer‑based training
  • Mentor and develop training instructors
  • Prepare regular reports on training activities, compliance status, and future training needs
Skills and Experience

Education:

  • 4‑year degree in an education related field, a teaching/training credential is preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • 3 years of technical training experience.
  • 5 Years’ Aircraft Maintenance Experience.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Use company‑supplied computers and databases to establish and maintain training records.
  • In‑depth knowledge of FAA regulations concerning aircraft maintenance training.

Certificates:

  • FAA A&P Certificate.

Computer

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
