Overview of the Position
Provide engineering design, build, troubleshoot, repair, and / or modify an array of specialized test systems and fixtures, and assembly and inspection tooling from schematics and/or written instructions (specific or inferred). The Mechanical Engineer has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop mechanical design and drafting skills, including basic machining knowledge as applicable; be the key focus and provide expertise on new product introduction.
- Develop electromechanical skills to include understanding and use of switches and sensors, application and measurement of mechanical load and position.
- Complete appropriate test documentation and certify test results.
- Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic equipment and techniques.
- Other duties may also be assigned.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Interface with a variety of team members in a dynamic environment.
- Provide written documentation to support equipment functions.
- Self‑motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication, and networking skills are required.
- Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.

- Computer skills:
Proficient in typical MRP system software, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field from a four‑year college or university, and 2‑3 years of working experience in the aerospace industry.
- Aviation component repair or manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with the standard Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to generate and update CAD models and drawings using Solid Works and/or Inventor programs.
- NI / LabVIEW experience, electrical aptitude, military, and aerospace industry experience are all a plus.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; and apply mathematical concepts related to engineering principles needed to perform job requirements.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Frequently required to talk or listen.
- Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Work in moderate noise levels.
