Experienced Structured Cable Estimator Job Summary
The Estimator supports the sales and projects staff in developing design and engineering solutions for sales opportunities. The Estimator keeps estimates accurate and information up to date, and assists in day‑to‑day sales and project activities of the Company.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- The Estimator provides complete project engineering, selects applicable materials and defines the basis for assigning and estimating labor. Writes scope of work and develops cost estimate in response to bid specifications.
- Assists the sales organization by attending site‑walks and pre‑bid meetings, tracking all site visits, and keeping detailed information of site conditions for use in engineering solutions.
- Acts as liaison between sales, project management, and operations when a project is turned over for installation. Monitors that the sales price and actual installation costs coincide.
- Follows company guidelines on preferred selection of vendors and products and works with vendors to obtain the best solution, most competitive price, and proper lead time on materials.
- Provides floor‑plan takeoffs and project applications per the company’s recommended solutions book and technical support personnel.
- Ensures all engineering work meets customer and company quality and safety levels at all times.
- Attends training and review sessions on technical requirements according to company training guidelines.
- Meets bid schedules and deadlines, working within and having the ability to meet a very strict timeframe.
- Attends and completes job turnover meetings as required to cover all details and expectations of the project as they were designed.
- Completes other responsibilities as assigned.
Min: USD 60,000.00 /yr.

Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements- Self‑motivated, positive approach, capable of creating, developing, and implementing project process improvements.
- Promotes company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
- Proven high skill level interpreting blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
- Able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Can manage multiple projects/estimates and present a high level of organization.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the company.
- RCDD preferred, but not required.
- Structured Cabling industry experience preferred but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
- Meets company minimum driving standards.
- Proven ability to design, engineer, estimate, and develop a written and graphic representation of the company’s proposed solutions using the software resources provided by the company.
- Possesses proven problem‑solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations.
