Equipment Maintenance Manager

The Equipment Maintenance Manager ensures that Skorpios’ semiconductor processing (CMP, etch, films, lithography, wet tools), metrology, and packaging equipment is clean, stable, and available for a 24x365 semiconductor fab operation. The Manager ensures rapid response to equipment failures, and executes preventive maintenance plans to minimize failures. The Manager analyzes equipment availability, MTBF and MTTR, failure modes and mode changes in order to update protocols or to identify negative trends and propose plans to mitigate them.

The position works closely with the manufacturing team and engineering for scheduling and troubleshooting of issues, and requires direct engagement and hands‑on activities for equipment repairs in the cleanroom.

• Manage and direct equipment maintenance staff to enact repairs and perform preventive maintenance; improve staff efficiencies.
• Identify and manage critical spare parts, including pumps and orings.
• Manage vendor contracts, FSE and parts management; search for hard‑to‑find parts and schedule non‑contract FSE work; find creative solutions to tool failures.
• Analyze equipment downtime and utilization data to find trends, then recommend corrective or preventive actions.
• Ensure scheduling of resources includes cross‑training for equipment maintenance technicians.

• Equipment maintenance technicians and the manager work up to 12‑hour shifts in a wafer fab.
• Roughly 75‑80% of the day is spent in a temperature‑controlled cleanroom; must tolerate full‑coverage gown, boots, hood, safety glasses, and other PPE.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to prevent exposure to hazardous materials such as low/high voltage, gases, high air pressure, chemicals, solvents, and acids.
• Some areas require hearing protection.
• Frequent gowning and de‑gowning expected.
• Frequent interruptions, static noise, and alarms (auditory and flashing lights) can be expected.

Authorization may be required to release covered technology to employees who are not U.S. citizens, nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or refugees.

Skorpios embraces a total compensation philosophy that includes a base salary and eligibility for overtime for non‑exempt roles. The base salary range is $150,000 to $170,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The actual starting rate will be determined based on role‑related criteria, including educational qualifications or equivalent experience, relevant work history, and the skills required for the role.

• Associate's degree in Electrical or Mechanical field.
• Seven years of semiconductor or solar equipment engineering or maintenance experience.
• Three years of staff management experience.

Ten years of semiconductor equipment experience.
