GENERAL SUMMARY
The slot electronic technician will diagnose, repair, and calibrate all gaming equipment using diagnostic equipment as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Protect the assets of Pechanga Resort & Casino.
- Diagnose, repair and calibrate all gaming equipment and associated equipment.
- Repair circuit boards, power supplies, monitors, bill validators and printers.
- Perform all electro‑mechanical work on slot machines.
- Observe guests on the slot floor and ensure proper functioning of all slot machines.
- Carry out all other job duties as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATIONHigh school diploma, general education degree (GED), or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years of electronic experience is required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLSThe ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add and subtract two‑digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, and perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITYApplication of common sense to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions; dealing with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS- Class “A” gaming license.
- On‑site training and classes completed.
- Board Repair Certification.
- Certification or 3‑year hands‑on experience of component‑level repair.
- Proper use of volt meters, oscilloscopes, and video generators.
- Logical diagnostics of malfunctions and corrective action; knowledge of boards and component level with or without schematics.
- Reading and interpreting schematics and color‑coded components.
- Effective communication, team orientation, and ability to work under pressure.
- Use of an “in‑ear” listening device for radio communications.
- Self‑starter, highly motivated, and resourceful.
- Positive attitude in a fast‑paced, culturally diverse casino environment.
- Ability to take direction and follow through with assigned tasks.
- Flexible and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a noisy, smoky environment.
- Capacity to push, pull and lift up to 70 lbs.
