Hourly Rate: $18 - $20/hr

Shift: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Responsibilities

The Day Program Instructor supports individuals with developmental disabilities to have a good quality of life. The instructor promotes the health, safety, and well‑being of residents and serves as an advocate for clients.

  • Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in Individual Program Plans.
  • Assist clients with bathroom needs, change clothing or undergarments as needed.
  • Prepare daily meals and assist with clean‑up.
  • Support clients with daily living and vocational activities.
  • Pick‑up/drop‑off clients in company vans when necessary.
  • Participate in client assessment, planning, and evaluation processes.
  • Input all client notes into computer programs, review IPP goals, and communicate with supervisors.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and training.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Education & Experience
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
  • ASL preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a California Driver’s License.
  • Must successfully pass all pre‑employment requirements, including a background check.
  • Preferred:
    Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year
    2) or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Preferred:
    Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Must have First Aid / CPR certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
