RANCHO WATER IS SEEKING A CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR

Help build the infrastructure that keeps our communities thriving. Rancho California Water District is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector Supervisor to lead inspection efforts for critical water, wastewater, and recycled water projects throughout our service area. This role offers the opportunity to mentor inspection staff, collaborate with engineers and contractors, and ensure the successful delivery of projects that will serve customers for generations to come.

About

the District

The District proudly serves a dynamic and growing region of 160,000 residents across 100,000 acres, including Temecula, Murrieta, and surrounding communities. The District is well resourced and uniquely positioned to leverage a diverse operating portfolio consisting of a thriving Groundwater Basin, Treated and Untreated Import Supply, as well as administering the Santa Rosa Regional Resource Authority regionally managing wastewater in partnership with other agencies.

Major upcoming initiatives include maximizing the nearly 50,000AF of storage in Vail Lake in combination with the expansion of the Groundwater Basin to reduce reliance on treated imported water.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate knows water and wastewater construction inside and out and understands what quality work looks like in the field. They can coach and support inspectors in holding contractors, consultants, developers, and other stakeholders accountable to the District's standards.

They serve as the bridge between the field and the office, using their construction experience and organizational skills to handle coordination, paperwork, and problem-solving so inspectors can stay focused on project oversight.

They also understand the unique challenges of working in the public sector, navigating policies, processes, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory requirements without sacrificing progress.

Most importantly, they are the backstop for the team, stepping in to resolve issues, remove obstacles, and keep projects moving so both the field and office can perform at their best.

Approach to Work

We ensure a strategic and unified workforce committed to being a leader in the industry. Through professional development, collaboration, and communication we consistently work through any challenges that we encounter.

Work Schedule

All full-time employees work a 9/80 schedule. Eligible employees may work a hybrid schedule, as determined by department needs.
