Job Description – Semiconductor Production Planner
Overview:
A Semiconductor Production Planner coordinates and optimizes the flow of materials, and production schedules within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production targets are met on time, within budget, and at the required quality standards, while minimizing downtime and bottlenecks.
Key Responsibilities:- Production Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet customer delivery dates and manufacturing capacity.
- Material Planning: Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials, wafers, and components.
- Workflow Coordination: Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth production flow and resolve bottlenecks.
- Capacity Management: Assess equipment availability, maintenance schedules, and labor resources to optimize throughput.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Track production metrics, analyze variances, and recommend process improvements.
- Change Management: Adjust plans in response to design changes, urgent orders, or supply chain disruptions.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure production plans align with industry standards, safety protocols, and quality requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or high‑tech production planning preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Adaptable to rapidly changing priorities.
- Collaborative mindset with cross‑functional teams.
- Proactive in identifying and resolving production risks.
