The Extrusion Technician is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining extrusion equipment while ensuring production quality, efficiency, and compliance with established processes. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives, performs inspections, and collaborates with team members and leadership to optimize manufacturing operations.

• Elevate productivity and quality concerns to the appropriate resources
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction, cycle time reduction, and setup reduction
• Order production tooling and supply items as needed
• Coordinate with manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, or other equipment support services when necessary
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with operators, group leads, and department support
• Perform tear down and set-ups for extruders and co-extruders
• Operate extruders within established cycle time and process parameters
• Read and interpret tooling prints, part prints, processes, and documentation
• Complete all required documentation accurately
  
  Perform manufacturing parts inspections using quality tools and equipment
• Utilize gauges, micrometers, tooling scopes, rulers, and other quality measurement tools
• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic processing issues such as O.D., I.D., ovality, concentricity, and other dimensional errors
• Understand material properties and their impact on product quality and processes
• Perform basic maintenance on extruders and auxiliary equipment, including driers, melt filters, blow-off tables, cutters, and pullers

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of extrusion experience, including tooling, troubleshooting, and machine/process setup
• Experience working in GMP environments
• Proficiency with computer applications

• 2-year technical degree
