We are seeking a highly skilled and autonomous Thermoforming & Extrusion Technician to become a vital part of our Tooling and Maintenance team. About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of thermoforming and extruder machinery — from setup and operation to troubleshooting and maintenance. Your expertise will ensure our production lines run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, meeting the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Optimization:
Configure dies, calibrate temperature zones, and adjust pressure, vacuum, and timing controls tailored to specific materials and product designs for optimal output. - Material Handling & Management:
Load raw materials into hoppers and oversee the supply of plastic stock for consistent, high-quality production flow. - Quality Assurance & Inspection:
Monitor production to ensure accurate alignment, color consistency, defect detection, and boundary integrity using calipers, gauges, and micrometers for precise measurement. - Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Lead diagnostics and resolve complex operational issues such as jams, irregular flow, or product defects. Perform routine preventative maintenance including mold and roller cleaning, lubrication, and equipment checks to minimize downtime. - Technical Leadership:
Provide oversight for molding maintenance, automation systems, cooling processes, and collaborate across departments to uphold safety and operational standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience with thermoforming and/or extrusion machinery at a senior or lead level—owner's tools required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a quick, effective approach to resolving technical challenges.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measurement instruments.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform physical maintenance tasks.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Commitment to safety protocols and routine equipment maintenance to ensure a secure workplace.
