Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The CNA is responsible for documenting all activities performed in accordance with established policy. Observes patient behavior, focusing on biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and sociocultural needs. Performs the secretarial/clerical aspects of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The CNA must be able to prioritize and process physician orders accurately and within designated time frames; seeking assistance as needed.
The CNA is responsible for answering patient calls, greeting and directing patients/visitors, and recording and delivering messages for patients/staff.
- Document all activities in accordance with policy.
- Observe patient behavior across biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and sociocultural needs.
- Perform secretarial/clerical aspects of patient care under RN supervision.
- Prioritize and process physician orders accurately and within designated time frames; seek assistance as needed.
- Answer patient calls, greet and direct patients/visitors, record and deliver messages for patients/staff.
Education/Training/
Experience:
- Current, valid CA Certified Nursing Assistant certificate OR evidence of completion of Nursing Fundamentals within the last 24 months from an accredited Registered Nursing program AND currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- BLS Certification (AHA and current).
- CPI or NCI certified within 120 days of hire and annual renewal thereafter.
- Ability to work in high-volume, fluctuating census environments.
- Subject to many interruptions and irregular hours.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where noise levels fluctuate.
