Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for documenting all activities performed in accordance with established policy. Observes patient behavior, focusing on biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and sociocultural needs. Performs the secretarial/clerical aspects of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The CNA must be able to prioritize and process physician orders accurately and within designated time frames; seeking assistance as needed.
The CNA is responsible for the answering of patient calls, and receives, greets, and directs patients/visitors; records and delivers messages for patients/staff.
- Current, valid CA. Certified Nursing Assistant certificate OR Evidence of completion of Nursing Fundamentals within the last 24 months from an accredited Registered Nursing program AND currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- BLS Certification (AHA and current)
- CPI or NCI certified within 120 days of hire and annual renewal thereafter
- Ability to work in high volume, fluctuating census environment
- Subject to many interruptions
- Subject to irregular hours
- Ability to work in fast paced environment where noise levels fluctuate
