Overview
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at Temecula Valley Hospital (TVH), part of Southwest Healthcare. The CNA documents activities per policy, observes patient behavior across biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and sociocultural needs, and performs secretarial/clerical aspects of patient care under RN supervision. The CNA prioritizes and processes physician orders accurately and within designated time frames, seeking assistance as needed. The CNA answers patient calls, greets and directs patients/visitors, and records and delivers messages for patients and staff.
ResponsibilitiesThe CNA is responsible for documenting all activities in accordance with established policy; observes patient behavior across biophysical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and sociocultural needs; performs secretarial/clerical aspects of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse; prioritizes and processes physician orders accurately and within designated time frames; answers patient calls and directs patients/visitors; records and delivers messages for patients and staff.
QualificationsEducation/Training/Experience:
- Current, valid CA Certified Nursing Assistant certificate OR
- Evidence of completion of Nursing Fundamentals within the last 24 months from an accredited Registered Nursing program AND currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nursing program
- BLS Certification (AHA and current)
- CPI or NCI certified within 120 days of hire and annual renewal thereafter
- Ability to work in high volume, fluctuating census environment
- Subject to many interruptions
- Subject to irregular hours
- Ability to work in fast paced environment where noise levels fluctuate
