Responsibilities include assessments, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation and documentation of adult and geriatric patients. Additional accountabilities include counseling and education for patients and families. Overall responsibility is for the nursing care of patients and for maintaining standards of nursing practice and optimal outcomes, including the supervision of all categories of nursing personnel.
Essential job duties include demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient's age group. Care provider must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span; must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs and provide the care needed by that patient population.
Qualifications include being a registered nurse with a current California RN license, current BLS certification, current ACLS certification, completion of Basic EKG interpretation class upon hire, and one (1) year medical/surgical experience in an acute care facility.
